Daring to Soar Ministries is about community pastorship. That’s our mission!
-The Landing youth center is open to students both during the summer and the school year. It is a safe environment with plenty of space to talk, play, and feel “at home.”
-Private music instruction has always been a part of Keith's personal ministry. For the 20+ years, Keith Kemp has counseled young people while teaching them guitar, drums, ukulele, and bass. The goal is for each to go back to his/ her home church and put those skills to work on their worship teams.
-DTS Virginia. Matt Mutty is our director of the DTS chapter in Virginia. Having seen the work of this ministry in Illinois, he was on board to repeat the efforts in Virginia. Currently, that chapter of the ministry has assisted a local school with landscaping help, has performed Christian music at a downtown art gallery opening, and has partnered with a single mom’s ministry to care for their pre-teen children.
-Book publication. Believing in her own need to DARE to soar, Amy Kemp published It’s All About The Dough in 2015. That platform has given Amy the chance to speak to numerous audiences, and public speaking is a sincere passion of hers. Amy also has posted a few blogs on the Daring to Soar site.
- DTS Tennessee. When Belle Kemp left the corn fields of Illinois for the mountains of Tennessee, she took the passion of ministry with her. She was instrumental in the founding of a new body of believers there known as Common Community. And then, God called her into church ministry. Belle and her finace, Tucker King, are jointly the youth ministers at Oak Grove Christian Church in Elizabethton, TN!
-The Bean Bag. Nestled at the four-way in downtown Oblong, IL is a great little community venue that has been home to family reunions, Christmas parties, worship nights, and holiday meals. The space is heated in the winter, cooled in the summer, and available to the public for nearly any gathering need. And, it is FREE to use for any kind of public good - ministry, Boy Scouts, 4-H, education foundation, you name it!
